Air quality reports
Monitoring pollution is a lengthy and ongoing process.
Environmental Health Services publishes a series of reports discussing and assessing these pollutants. Updating and screening assessments consider the situation across Calderdale, highlighting where further investigation may be needed. Detailed Assessments and Progress Reports refer to specific investigations.
Where the quality of the air we breathe exceeds legal standards an Air Quality Management Area is declared. This leads to a Further Assessment considering the pollution at this specific location and then the creation of an Action Plan aimed at reducing the levels of pollution.
Previous reports are available in Council publications or can be inspected at the Council's Offices.
