Search and comment on planning applications
Access to planning applications
We aim to make planning applications and associated documents available to view online on our Public Access system within 24 hours of them being validated.
Search for a planning application
You can search for an application using the Search Box or find them via:
If you are unable to open the pdf files which accompany the planning applications (under the 'Documents' tab), right-click the pdf and select “Save Target As...”.
If you register on our Public Access system you can receive e-mail alerts about applications of interest.
track applications to receive e-mails when consultations, letters of representation and amended plans are received and when the status of an application changes eg. it's determined.
How? Search planning applications for the application of interest and select the Track Application option;
save searches and receive e-mails when applications meeting your search criteria are received and validated eg. if an application for a wind turbine is submitted in your Ward.
How? Define your search criteria using the Advanced search then select the Save Search option.
For guidance on registering on the system, see Comment on an application.
Sometimes schemes are amended and revised plans submitted. These will be made available online within 24 hours of receipt. If the changes are considered to be very minor we will not publicise the amendments and we will not invite comments from the public. Where the changes are not considered to be minor further publicity will be carried out, asking for people’s comments.
Legal decisions and information on public access
You should not rely on the documents on public access in connection with property or legal transactions. You are advised to carry out a Local land charges search through the Council’s Land Charges Section. No responsibility will be taken for any errors or omissions in the planning history information obtained via public access. Similarly, the information contained with public access does not constitute in any way a formal notification of a planning decision and as such any actions taken as a result of information displayed on public access are undertaken entirely at the viewer’s own risk.
Calderdale Metropolitan Council reserves the right to remove or not display certain planning application information for confidentiality or other reasons.
