Ancient Monuments
You need special permission from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, not the Council, to carry out work affecting an Ancient Monument or even it's setting. More detailed advice is available from the West Yorkshire Archaeology Service. Planning and Regeneration Services keep a Register of Ancient Monuments.
