About Children and Young People’s Services Directorate

The Children and Young People’s Services Directorate formed in January 2006 to achieve the Council's vision of making Calderdale a place where every child and young person thrives, is safe and happy and has maximum life chances to fulfil their potential, irrespective of their background.

The service is actively working on this agenda with its partners and stakeholders.

Calderdale was a Pilot Children’s Trust, so our Children and Young People’s Plan is a year ahead of that of many other authorities.

These are exciting and creative times.  We have all the right ingredients in Calderdale to meet this promise but the most important ingredient of all is our people. This could be you.
