Children and Young People's Plan
Introduction
Vision
Calderdale Council knows that all children and young people are different and that everyone matters. This is encapsulated in our vision which was created by children and young people;
'everyone different, everyone matters'.
With our partners, for example people in health, education and safety, we want to support all children and young people in Calderdale to do and be the best they possibly can.
Ambition
Our ambition is for all children and young people in Calderdale to:
- be brought up in a caring and safe place
- be healthy
- be listened to and heard
- get the knowledge and skills they need for life
- meet with other young people from different backgrounds
- easily get in touch with any service they need.

Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)
Calderdale Council and Calderdale Primary Care Trust are working closely together to improve our understanding of the future health and well-being needs of the District's residents. We are doing this through a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).
Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
Children and Young People's Management Group (CYPMG)
To achieve this we know that it cannot be done alone, the issues are too big. Therefore we created what is known as a Children's Trust, which is the CYPMG. This group is responsible for driving the improvement in outcomes for children and young people in Calderdale.
Here representatives from many organisations, including health, education, charities and many others meet to plan and work together towards tackling the issues in partnership in order to raise outcomes for all children and young people.

The Children and Young People's Plan
To make sure we do these things, CYPMG have helped write a plan called the Children and Young People's Plan . This plan sets out what we need to do as a partnership to provide the best possible services for the children and young people of Calderdale.
We will focus on helping children and young people to:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic well-being.
The plan is a three year plan that is reviewed and refreshed annually. Specific priorities will change as they are addressed or as new ones emerge. This year's specific priorities are set out below.
