Traded services

Introduction

Calderdale Council provides some services to schools on a commercial, traded basis. Currently there are 23 such services. These are known as the traded services.

Schools need to make a deliberate decision to buy these traded service such as catering, building cleaning or payroll. There is no obligation for schools to buy any Council service. Indeed Governing Bodies are required to show that they are achieving Best Value and so are under an obligation to buy services that offer Best Value.
