Governor meetings

Adult students

The Calderdale Governors’ Association (CGA) - previously known as CASGB - is a local independent body which aims to improve governance in Calderdale by supporting governors and sharing knowledge, expertise and good practice for the benefit of all Calderdale children. It will consult with governors and arrange meetings/training sessions to discuss matters of interest to which all Calderdale governors are welcome to attend.

Although CGA is independent of the Local Authority they will work closely together and the LA will provde administrative support.

Joint Commissioning Group

The Joint Commissioning Group is charged with the development of appropriate action plans to ensure that the Children and Young People's Management Group delivers on the key priorities as set out in the Children and Young People's Plan.

The group meets monthly at various times and dates to accommodate partners.

Chair of Governors / Members' Forum

The Chair of Governors / Members' Forum was established to support the Local Authority / School Consultation Framework. It meets on an eight weekly cycle and membership consists of Chairs of Governors from the different categories / phases of school, senior officers of the local authority and Council Members. The next meeting will be held on:

All governors are invited to place items on the agenda that are of a general nature and of interest to all schools. They can do this through the representative Chairs of Governors on the Forum. Contact details are available from the school's Chair of Governors.

Notes of the meetings are circulated to all schools and governing bodies via the school packet.

The Chair of the Forum for this municipal year is Patricia Astwood MBE.
