School governors

Governor conference

The Calderdale Governor Conference is held annually. It provides opportunities for governors to meet and network with governors in other schools. Speakers of national repute are invited to speak on current governor related issues. 

The 2009 conference "The Calderdale Challenge" - Succession Planning and New Models of Leadership took place on Saturday, 16 May.

Previous conferences have covered subjects such as: 'Everyone different - everyone matters' - personalisation and making good progress;  'Meeting the challenges' - the changing role of leadership and management in the context of extended services;  The Changing Role of Local Authorities and Schools; Governing Schools for the Future.
