Part A: Admissions policy and general information
9. Late applications
Late applications will be considered after all applications received before the closing date. However, in 'exceptional circumstances' defined below, it may be possible for an application received after the closing date to be considered as on time. 'Exceptional circumstances' are:
- when a single parent living alone with their child has been ill for some time. The application must be supported by a doctor's note;
- where a house move over five miles (as determined by a straight line measurement) within or into Calderdale has been completed between 16 January 2010 and 1 March 2010. The application must be supported by appropriate evidence (for example a solicitor's letter confirming the completion of a house purchase or copy of a rental agreement for a property within Calderdale).
A house move of less than five miles will not be considered as exceptional circumstances.
Exceptional circumstances can only be taken into consideration where a Common Application Form accompanied by all supporting evidence and any supplementary forms have been received by 1 March 2010.
Applications received after 23 April 2010 will be processed in order of date received in accordance with the scheme's requirements.
