Introduction

The introduction of food-based Government standards for school meals in September 2006 (new school food standards) has affected school caterers across the United Kingdom. Some school caterers will have had to make big changes to their menus while others may have not needed to make any changes at all.

There are different ways that catering can be provided to schools in Calderdale. For example, the school food can be provided by the Local Authority (Calderdale Catering Services), by a private catering company, in-house by the school, or through another local school.
