Financial assistance for post-16 education
Calderdale Metrocard Scheme
Calling Year 12 EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance) Students
Did you know you may be able to receive transport assistance if you are continuing your education in September 2011?
Calderdale Council has agreed to provide some funding to support students who will be losing their £10 and £20 EMA payments from September 2011. These funds are limited and are available on a first come first served basis.
If you can answer Yes to all these questions you need to apply now on the application form below:
- Do you live in Calderdale?
- Is your date of birth between 01.09.93 and 31.08.94?
- Do you currently receive weekly EMA payments of £10 or £20?
- Are you continuing at your school or college in September 2011?
- Do you live over 1.5 miles (walking route) from school / college?
If you have answered No don’t despair there is still assistance available for those currently getting £30 per week and anyone going into Year 14 in September 2011 directly from EMA.
Assistance will be in the form of Monthly School Plus Metro cards which will be provided to those who qualify (see above) ideally from October 2011 to June 2012. This will be dependent on the number of students applying as funds are limited.
