Terms and conditions
- Lessons to start in the third week of the autumn term so that groups can be organised and instruments allocated.
- Guaranteed minimum of an average of ten teaching visits (or the teacher being available to visit) over an academic year (30 per year). No refunds can be given for pupil absences or school cancellations. Invoices will only be adjusted where the Music Service has failed to make a teacher available for at least 30 visits during the academic year.
- A group will only be set up in a school where there is a viable number of enrolments on a particular instrument. Unfortunately, owing to cost, the Music Service is unable to contact all parents. Your child will be informed if and when he/she is fitted into a group. Unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a waiting list. Please do not assume that children giving up or leaving your child's school will automatically release places there; timetables have to be organised across all schools.
- Group sizes and length of lessons will be dependent upon enrolments within a school and determined by the instrumental teacher.
- It is not the responsibility of the music service staff to ensure that pupils attend lessons. However, wherever possible, every effort will be made to encourage good attendance. Refunds will not be given for non-attendance of pupils.
- If you opt for termly invoices, these will be issued after the start of each term. You may receive an invoice at any time during the term. This must be paid within 28 days of issue.
- For those opting for payment by standing order, invoices are issued soon after the start of the school year. It is your responsibility to set up the standing order payments with your bank. Details and a standing order form will be sent with the invoice.
- If a pupil withdraws from lessons during the term, once timetables have been set up, the full term must be paid for: No refunds will be given.
