Proposed new library and archive

The Council is proposing to build a new library and archive adjacent to the Piece Hall, Halifax and is seeking opinions on what the new facility should include.

Access for all

Based in the Central Library, Halifax, the service provides a welcoming environment, primarily for the use of those over the age of 55, who want to learn how to use a computer or get online. There are also facilities to help people with visual impairments.

Joining the library

Joining Calderdale Libraries gives you access to a wealth of leisure, entertainment, study and reference resources. You can use any of our access points and, with your PIN (personal identification number), use our services via the Internet.
