Financial assistance for post-16 education

Introduction

Calderdale Council, in partnership with Calderdale College, has produced this guidance for students and parents living in Calderdale.  The guidance gives information regarding financial assistance available for students attending a school sixth form or attending a college.

The purpose of Education Maintenance Allowances, the School Learner Support Funds, College Learner Support Funds and Post-16 Transport Provision is to provide support to students aged 16+ whose access to or completion of education might be inhibited by financial considerations.

It must be remembered that this information is only to give you a general guide to procedures for obtaining support. If after reading it, you would like to apply, then you must follow the instructions as outlined.

Every attempt has been made to ensure that the information provided is correct.  However, the area of student support is subject to constant change and the Council will endeavour to update the information as changes occur.  The Council reserves the right to review its awards and transport policies as circumstances require.
