Todmorden Children's Centre provides quality nursery provision where children can experience a range of play opportunities in a safe, stimulating environment.
The Ofsted inspection in January 2007 rated the nursery provision as good.
Our Nursery
- Places available for children aged 0 to 5 years.
- Hours of opening - Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.
- Open 48 weeks a year (closed Bank Holidays and Christmas).
- Offers a healthy menu taking into account the needs of individual children.
- Three and four year old funded places.
- Inclusive setting for all children.
- Exciting outdoor play provision.
A team of experienced early years practitioners, together with a qualified children's centre teacher, offer play experiences where children can play, learn and succeed within an atmosphere where they feel cared for and valued.
Outdoor play
The newly planted outdoor garden provides opportunities to experiment with planting seeds and helping them grow. Water channels give lots of opportunities for outdoor water play. Have a go at pouring and measuring!
Outdoor instruments can be played as loudly or softly as you like!

| Monday | Counselling | 1.30 pm to 5.00 pm | A professional and confidential service for parents. If you feel you would like to talk to our counsellor in confidence, please ring 01422 250081 and ask for the Counselling Department. |
| Monday | Ladies Fitness | 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm | A fitness group for ladies only, limited crèche places. Please telephone the center to book a place. |
| Tuesday | Counselling | 9.00 am to 4.00 pm | A professional and confidential service for parents. If you feel you would like to talk to our counsellor in confidence, please ring 01422250081 and ask for the Counselling Department. |
| Tuesday | Weaning | 9.30 am to 10.30 am | 1st Tuesday of every month Practical weaning advice for parents of 4 to 6 month old babies. Please talk to your health visitor for details. ( |
| Tuesday | Yoga | 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm | With crèche. By invitation only. Please see your health visitor or children's centre staff. |
| Wednesday | Bongo Bongos | 10.00 am to 11.00 am | Play and fun activities with musical instruments for families. |
| Wednesday | Jobcentre Plus - Careers | 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm (Fortnightly) | Personal adviser available every fortnight. Just call in. Latest job vacancies displayed in the foyer. |
| Wednesday | Baby Stay and Play | 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm | A group for mums, dads, carers and younger babies (not walking). Safe activities for your baby and a chance to chat with other parents. |
| Wednesday | Baby Clinic | 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm | Run by the Health Visitors at Todmorden Children’s Centre – running alongside the Baby Stay and Play |
| Thursday | Lesbian Families Group | 10.00 am to 12.00 noon | Lots of creative fun. Third Thursday of every month. |

| Thursday | Messy Play Sessions | 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm | Lots of very messy play, come along, join in and have fun at our very messy play sessions. Booking essential. |
| Friday | Ante-natal clinic | 9.00 am to 2.00 pm | Please book appointments with your midwife. |
| Friday | Feeding Friendly | 10.00 am to 11.30 pm | Breast feeding support group. Just drop in and chat with other mums and dads. |
| Friday | Young Parents Group | 1.30 am to 3.00 pm | A support group with fun activities for young parents and their children. Fortnightly. |
| Friday | Wild Things Drama Group | 3.45 pm to 4.30 pm | Drama group for 3-5 year olds. Book at Children’s Centre reception. |
| Saturday | Saturday Stars’ | 11.00 am to 1.00 pm | This is held at Fielden Centre Support group for families of children with special needs. 2nd Saturday of every month. |
