Siddal Children's Centre

We provide quality childcare for children aged 0-5 years with a child centred approach in a stimulating environment where children learn through play.

Starting in the term following their third birthday, children can attend up to six part-time early education sessions per week at Siddal Children's Centre nursery (2.5 hours each), free of charge.

The following is a timetable of regular activities currently offered at Siddal Children's Centre.

TuesdayWeaning Group1.30 pm to 3.00 pmPlease call the centre for the next date. For parents with babies of/nearing weaning age.  Sorry, but we are unable to have toddlers present.
TuesdayBaby Group1.30 pm to 3.30 pmFor you and your little ones aged under 1. This is a chance to meet other parents and carers with babies of similar ages. There will be a varied programme to include lots of baby playtime, messy activities, rhymes and singing, baby massage and weaning. Term time only.
WednesdayFamily Support Drop-in9.00 pm to 10.30 pmDrop-in session for informal advice on a variety of parenting issues offered by our Family Support Worker.
WednesdayParent and Toddler Group9.30 pm to 11.30 pmChildren (and grown ups) of all ages welcome! A chance for children to show their creative side with messy arts and craft activities, exciting toys, which as well as being great fun, will help them to develop different skills and abilities. There’ll be singing and stories and lots of games. There will also be a healthy snack time, outside play and special events and guest speakers at your request!
ThursdayCounselling9.30 am to 3.00 pmA professional and confidential service for parents. To enquire about the service or request an appointment, ring 01422 250081 and ask for the Counselling Department.
FridayMusic and Action Group9.00 am to 11.00 amChildren (and grown ups) of all ages welcome! An hour of music including playing with musical instruments, song time and rhymes using puppets, making musical instruments and looking at different sounds and noises. Then there’s a chance to burn off all that energy and get fit with an hour of physical activities. Term time only.
FridayCounselling9.30 am to 3.00 pmA professional and confidential service for parents. To enquire about the service or request an appointment, ring 01422 250081 and ask for the Counselling Department.

Considering starting a course?

If you are thinking of starting a college or training course and would like advice regarding accessing the right course or help with childcare costs, come and discuss the available options with the Children's Centre Outreach Adviser.

Job Centre Plus

If you would like to discuss options to return to work, discuss how your benefits may be affected or thinking of starting a college course you can drop-in to the Children’s Centre between 10-12pm on 8th December to talk in confidence to Nigel Broadbent from Job Centre Plus.

To arrange an appointment speak to a member of staff at the Children's Centre or call Jobcentre Plus on 01422 424658.

Adult Learning courses are running throughout the year please contact 01422 395501 for further details and to book.

Do you need help and advice to start work or training? If so, we can make an appointment to see a Jobcentre Plus Adviser at the centre, who can help you search for jobs, training courses and provide a calculation showing how much better off you will be if you return to work.
