Northowram and Shelf Children's Centre

Northowram and Shelf children’s centre Hub is situated in Northowram alongside the Northowram Library.

The Hub is key to delivering services that are accessible to families in this area and includes a purpose built multipurpose room and kitchen and other accessible amenities.

Northowram and Shelf sits in the Children’s Centre reach area of the Kevin Pearce Children’s Centre but the hub will enable services to be tailored to the needs of families in Northowram and Shelf.

The Children’s Centre works in partnership with others to deliver groups, activities and services and good links with schools and other organisations are key. It strives to meet the needs of the children, young people and families and values partnership working and the views of parents.

Because the hub is a satellite centre it only opens when there is an activity running, we have a What’s on Guide which is up dated frequently and copies of this can be picked up in the Northowram Library and are available to view below or can be posted out on request, please phone 01422 251090.

Children’s Centre services provide opportunities to families, young people and children and will offer support in a variety of ways, this includes outreach work by parent link workers and family support, it also works in partnership with others such as health, Job Centre Plus and many more to meet the needs of families.

Wednesday	Chat and Play Session	1.30 pm to 3.30pm	Parent and child group for young children up to 4 years old and their mums, dads and carers. £1.50 per session. Snack for children, coffee and a chat for adults.
Wednesday	Paediatric First Aid	6.30 pm to 9.30pm	Starts 2nd May for 4 weeks, phone 251090 to book a place.
Thursday	Childminder Network Session	9.00 am to 11.30 am	For babies 3 months – 12 months, 1.30pm – 2.30pm. Phone the centre to book a session.
Thursday	Reach for the Stars	10.30 am to 11.30 am	Starts 8th May for 4 weeks, at Northowram Cricket Club, parent and child music, theatre and dance for 2-4yr olds, phone 251090 to book a place.
