Adult learning

Introduction

Woman with books

There has never been a more important time to gain new skills and qualifications. By joining one of our workshops or courses we hope that you will have the opportunity to gain qualifications, broaden your career options, start an inspiring new hobby, improve your health and wellbeing, and gain confidence and social benefits through learning with others.

Learning takes place at Adult Learning Centres in Todmorden, Halifax and Brighouse, so you will not have far to travel. A variety of community organisations also provide adult learning throughout Calderdale.

If you have not received a copy of the Learner Handbook, to access all the essential information to support you in your learning, it can be downloaded: Learner Handbook [PDF file 221KB]|PDF file

If you would like more information or advice, or you would like this information in another format (e.g. Braille, large print, audio type) contact us.

Adult learning in Calderdale is helping people gain confidence and self-esteem says a newly-published report. Ofsted inspectors visited Calderdale Council's Adult Learning Services in April. See Press Release: Improving confidence and self-esteem
