Calderdale Adult Learning (CAL) provides a wide range of learning opportunities if you want to learn for personal interest and wellbeing or to gain skills for a job and to help with your career progression. There are also a range of courses aimed at families learning together. Note that you must be aged 19 or over (on 1 August 2014) to enrol on any of the courses.
We also work in partnership with over 60 organisations, including schools, local community, businesses and voluntary bodies. Through these partnerships we aim to provide education and training that will meet the needs and interests of the residents of Calderdale and to reach those who can benefit from it the most.
We want to make learning rewarding for all learners. For 2014-15, there is no increase in our hourly rate for tuition fees, and some fees are reduced. You can get a 10% discount for booking early, try a course in the summer for half price, or even attend a course for free! For full details on these offers, see How to enrol.

Matrix Standard of Quality
Calderdale Adult Learning Service is pleased to announce its success in achieving the Matrix Standard in May 2014. The Matrix Standard is a quality framework for the effective delivery of information, advice and guidance (IAG) on learning and work.
Family learning provides opportunities for families, in the widest sense, to learn together. These take place in partnership with schools, children's centres and local community learning centres. All Family Learning courses are free! Select Family Learning on the Courses search to see the full range available. For more information, contact the Admin team.
In addition to the workplace courses listed, we can also deliver high quality bespoke or accredited training at your workplace or at one of our local centres at a time to suit you. Contact the Admin team for more details.
If you have a skill or subject you would like to teach in the adult learning community, we run the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. This is an introductory course for those wishing to teach in the adult learning sector. See the Courses listing for more information.
