Corporate procurement

Introduction

The Corporate Procurement Unit of Calderdale Council was established in June of 2003 and our function within the council is to offer advice and guidance to the various directorates and service areas, who undertake their own procurement whether for goods, services or supplies.

Calderdale council has a constitution, which sets out how it operates, how decisions are made and how procedures are undertaken. This constitution commits the council to a system of efficient, transparent and accountable governance. Within the constitution is a section entitled Contract Procedure Rules, which highlights the rules that govern how council officers undertake their procurement activities.

The Council also has a procurement policy and strategy that explains the role of procurement and its procurement objectives.
