Introduction

Calderdale Ward Profiles 2004

The Profiles will be regularly updated and expanded as new information becomes available.

Most of the information in the Profiles is from the 2001 Census. More detailed statistics from the Census for Calderdale as a whole and the previous ward areas have been published by the Council in a number of reports that are available in local libraries .

A Ward Digest report will be published in mid- year providing more comprehensive information about the new ward areas and six “greater town” areas.

Census information is also available through the Internet on  Neighbourhood Statistics|External link . Information on each ward is displayed on the profile and map pages. An outline boundary map shows the location of the wards in Calderdale. A detailed map is available for each ward.

Each profile contains a brief description of the ward, guidance notes, definitions, and data on area, age, ethnicity, economic activity, social groups, health, household composition, tenure, amenities, incomes and benefits.

A printed copy of each Profile is available through the Chief Executive's Office. For some wards these include inset maps to assist identification of ward boundaries in built-up areas. Alternatively each Profile can be downloaded as a pdf file:
