A birth must be registered in the district where it occurs. However, if a birth occurs in another district a declaration can be made here and forwarded to the Registrar of that district,
Please note: it may take longer for the certificates to be issued after a declaration, as we rely on the postal service to send documents.
Registration must take place within six weeks of the birth
In Calderdale, registration is by appointment only. Please telephone 01422 288080 to book an appointment.
