Grants

There are a wide variety of grants to support people. This section details some of the funding that may be available to you.

External funding

Funding for community and voluntary groups is available from several sources. 'Calderdale for Community' brings all the information together.

Financial assistance for post-16 education

Guidance about the financial assistance available for students attending a school sixth form or college in Calderdale.

Grants to voluntary organisations

Grants range from small amounts for schemes to support social inclusion, funds for payment of non-domestic rates bills and larger sums for schemes designed to build stronger communities.

Home repairs

The Home Improvement Service assists elderly and vulnerable home-owners to carry out essential work to protect their health and safety. Grants or loans are available, depending on the financial circumstances of the applicant. The Home Improvement Service also provides general advice on housing repairs and maintenance.

Sustainable development grants

Sustainable development grants are no longer available from the Council but there are other organisations which may be able to advise you.
