The Scrutiny Panels
Economy and Environment Scrutiny Panel
The Economy and Environment Scrutiny Panel looks at areas such as planning, highways, housing, regeneration, markets and conservation. This may involve looking at the work of the council in these areas, and also the work of partner agencies and organisations. The panel may offer advice or make recommendations on policy development to the cabinet or council, or look at decisions of the cabinet and, if appropriate, ask them to reconsider. They may also make recommendations to partner agencies in certain circumstances.
The panel completed two detailed reviews in 2014, one on Economic Regeneration in Calderdale; the other on the Green Economy and a detailed review on the Local Environment and Public Health (2015). The Panel has also looked at reports on renewable energy and on the performance of Calderdale's markets.
For the current list of issues we have discussed see scrutiny reviews.
