Local election results
There are now 17 wards in Calderdale. Each ward has three councillors who are elected by the electors in each of the wards to serve on the Council and represent the interests of their local community. There are 51 councillors in all. Councillors are elected to serve on the Council for a term of 4 years. At each regular local election one councillor retires in each ward.
The councillors who were elected in 2008 will remain in office until 2012.
