Directorate structure

Under the Chief Executive's Office are six directorates

• Deputy Chief Executive's Office
• Children's and Young People's Services
• Economy and Environment
• Safer and Stronger Communities
• Adults, Health and Social Care
• Public Health (joint with the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust).

The Chief Executive's Office is directly responsible for the following three service areas

• Finance
• Democratic and Partnership Services
• Halifax First.

Underneath the Deputy Chief Executive's Office are two service areas

• Human Resources
• Business Change and Performance Management.

Underneath the Children and Young People's Services directorate are five service areas

• Children's Social Care
• Family Support
• Children's Trust
• Learning
• Calderdale Challenge and BSF (Building Schools for the Future).

Underneath the Economy and Environment directorate are four service areas

• Highways and Engineering
• Regeneration
• Planning
• Housing and Environment.

Underneath the Safer and Stronger Communities directorate are three service areas

• Neighbourhoods and Community Engagement
• Customer Services and Communication
• Cultural Services.

Underneath the Adults, Health and Social Care directorate are three service areas

• Mental Health and Learning Disability (joint with the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust)
• Well Being and Social Care
• Partnership Commissioning.
