3. Local Area Agreement
Calderdale's Local Area Agreement contains the details of local priorities that are identified in the Sustainable Community Strategy. Local Area Agreements provide a means of improving some of the key long-term challenges faced by local authorities and their partners.
Local Area Agreements (LAAs) are three year agreements that are developed by local councils with their partners in a Local Strategic Partnership. Each area's LAA is negotiated with the Government Office for the region, before being agreed and signed off by the Secretary of State.
Calderdale’s Local Area Agreement is based on, and helps to deliver, the Sustainable Community Strategy. LAAs are updated annually to allow for changes. Calderdale's second and updated Local Area Agreement (LAA2 Refresh) covers the period 2008 - 2011.
The final draft of the Strategy can be downloaded from the Calderdale Forward website: About Calderdale Forward|
