2. Calderdale's Sustainable Community Strategy

The Sustainable Community Strategy is the overarching local plan that sets out the vision, aims and outcomes for Calderdale over the coming years. It aims to improve the social, economic and environmental wellbeing for those who live, work, visit, or access services in Calderdale. It provides a framework that enables Calderdale Forward partners to work closely together.

To realise the long-term vision as set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy, Calderdale Forward has identified key priority areas and is responsible for overseeing their delivery, through the Local Area Agreement. Calderdale's second and updated Local Area Agreement (LAA2 Refresh) covers the period 2008 - 2011.

The Sustainable Community Strategy builds on the previous strategy and is updated to keep it up to date. The new Sustainable Community Strategy will be available from summer 2009. The latest draft of the Strategy can be downloaded from About Calderdale Forward|.
