Grounds maintenance
Introduction
The Grounds Maintenance Service is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of:
- sports grounds - over 140 sports pitches and playing fields
- 26 parks
- 29 ornamental gardens and displays
- 123 play areas.
And many other:
- public areas
- open spaces
- school grounds
- highway verges and estate areas.
We carry out a wide range of operations including:
- grass cutting
- weed spraying
- ornamental bedding displays
- tree and shrub maintenance
- playground and sports markings.
Our aim is to enhance and maintain our local environment.
Schedules
All areas have maintenance schedules, which helps to keep the local environment in good order. This includes planting of bedding plants, sports pitch maintenance, tree works and areas of ornamental planting all year round.
