Tell us once
The Tell Us Once service removes the need for you to provide information to government over and over again, at times when you are least likely to want to keep repeating yourself; times of celebration – the birth of a child, or times of sadness – the death of a loved one.
So when you are registering a birth or death you just have to tell government services once.
In the case of a birth, this may include notifying child benefit and library services; when someone has died, ensuring claims for Council Tax or benefit payments are handled correctly.
With your permission, we will notify other government services of the life event. Our registrars, at Calderdale Register Office, will record any necessary information when you visit to register the birth or death.
