Chatterbooks for children

Chatterbooks are Reading Clubs for children aged 9 - 11: they're about reading and talking about everything to do with books - stories, authors, illustrators, dramas.

Each session is themed and members may choose freely within the theme - new books and first pick will be a bonus of the group.

There are games, activities, gifts and prizes during the hour long sessions, and children will get the opportunity to meet and talk to any visiting authors or storytellers.

Membership of the groups is limited to about ten children, and there are groups now running in Bailiff Bridge, Brighouse, Beechwood Road, Central, Elland, Mixenden, Northowram, Rastrick, Ripponden, Shelf, Southowram, Stainland and Todmorden Libraries.

All the groups meet monthly after school, except the Central Library group which meets every Saturday morning.

Contact the Children's Team on 01422 392620 for further details.

Chatterbooks is supported by Orange.
