Mobile library

Introduction

Our community vehicle provides a quality library service throughout rural Calderdale and also visits residential homes, nursing homes and sheltered housing complexes. The vehicle is fitted with a wheelchair lift and internal handrails.

From 1 October 2011, mobile library visits will be every four weeks. The revised service starts on 3 October commencing with the Route 1 timetable.

Library stock consists of a range of materials suitable for everyone:

• fiction and non-fiction books
• large print books
• CDs
• talking books
• information leaflets
• and, of course, books for children.

Staff are always available to help readers choose material or will visit people who are unable to access the mobile library for themselves.

A small selection of community information is carried on the vehicles and other information can be obtained on request. Please ask!
