Online reservations

You will need your library card number and personal identification number ( PIN) to reserve an item online.

When you have found something you would like to reserve check the 'request item' box.

Unless you fall into exempt categories, requesting items online will normally charge your library account. For a list of our current charges, see fees and charges

If you are not already logged in you will be asked for your library card number (precede the number with R) and PIN.

You will then be shown a confirmation screen. Check 'request' again to confirm. You will be notified by mail when your reservation is available; you can also track the progress of your reservations online.

It is not possible to reserve certain stock types and an on screen message will advise you if this is the case, e.g. reference items, premium DVDs, local studies stock.

Please note that the maximum number of reservations you may have outstanding at any one time is 20.

You can only place reservations online for items that are in stock in Calderdale Libraries. If you can't find a particular item please ask a member of staff on your next visit - we may be able to buy the title that you want, or borrow it from another library.

Please note: you will not be able to reserve items online if you have any outstanding fees or fines.
