Everyone different, everyone matters

Introduction

"Everyone Different" means valuing people's differences. By "Everyone Matters" we mean treating all people fairly.
Calderdale Council has produced a single diversity scheme, which covers age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion and belief.  This approach helps us:

• Deal with the reality of working with, and providing services for, people who belong to one, or more, of the six equality strands;
• Make sure we focus on specific inequalities; and
• Create links between everyone being different (valuing people's differences) and everyone matters (promoting fairness) to us and the organisations we work with.
