Looking After Me

Looking After Me has been very successful and many carers have benefitted.  The sessions help carers to learn new skills to help cope with caring situations and they also learn strategies to enable them to continue caring without neglecting their own needs.

There are six weekly sessions, lasting  two and a half hours each, following by a lunch. We use local venues and it is a relaxed and friendly environment.

Topics covered include:

Carers can meet others who share similar experiences.

The sessions are delivered by volunteer tutors who are carers themselves and have undergone training and an accreditation process.

Six to eight weeks after the last session there is a re-union and carers are encouraged to become involved in a range of support, such as carers' support groups, activities and events.

Looking After Me is open to anyone caring in Calderdale and sessions run regularly.

If you are a carer and would like to find out more, contact Wendy by ringing 01422 369101 or email wendy@calderdale-carers.co.uk
