Hire charges
Civil ceremonies
Clay House is licensed for civil ceremonies. There is a minimum hire charge for the first 2 hours.
- Monday - Friday this is £250
- Saturday and Sunday it is £350.
Additional hours are at the appropriate hourly rate.
A bar service charge of £50.00 will be applied for ceremonies and functions under 3 hours.

All hourly rates are Monday - Sunday.
- Bookings are in blocks of 30 minutes. There is a minimum hire charge of 2 hours, plus clearance.
- Set up and clearance is charged at:
set-up up to 3 hours at a discount of 25% of the relevant hourly rate;
clearance of 1 hour at a discount of 25% of the hourly rate;
any additional hours to be charged at the full rate. - Additional hours not on the contract will be charged after the event at 1½ times the original rate.
- VAT does not apply unless stated.

Special half price rate: bookings Monday to Thursday, 9.00am to 5.00pm = £30.00 per hour
For commercial one off bookings, the rate is by negotiation.
Discounted rates apply to hirers who:
- book 6 or more events per year, regularly spaced throughout the year - weekly, monthly meetings etc.
- book the same room(s) for more than one day consecutively.
A discount of 20% will apply to qualifying bookings.

Staff charges
One member of staff is included in the hire fee. Extra members of staff are required for all events where a bar is requested and for events in the region of 100 or more people attending. Price per hour £15.00 including VAT.
