The development plan sets out the land-use planning framework for the future of the district.

The Yorkshire & Humber Assembly are commencing a  Regional Spatial Strategy 2009 Update|External link to look at housing growth in the region. The update will test and explore the scale of growth, locations for growth and infrastructure needed to accommodate growth.

The published written statement of Replacement Calderdale UDP - Adopted August 2006 is available in hard copy for purchase at a cost of £50.00 + £5.00 post and packing.

The Replacement Calderdale UDP Proposals Map Adopted August 2006 comprising of 7 Area Maps plus a Town Centre Inset Map are available to purchase at a cost of £5.00 + £1.00 post and packing each, or £35.00 + £4.00 post and packing for a full set. They are available to view at Planning Reception, 2nd Floor, Northgate House and all Calderdale libraries

Please note that the former Calderdale Unitary Development Plan (Adopted 1997) has ceased to have any effect in decision making and has been withdrawn from the website.
