How to apply
You can apply and pay for your permit online. Once you have done this it will be posted to you via first class post.

Please apply at least seven days prior to expiry in order to allow time for your permit to be processed
The permit will allow you to park in most of the Council's long stay car parks and offers good value for money.
A full list of applicable car parks and location maps are available on this web site at; car parks and on-street parking. Permits are valid Monday to Sunday.
Contract permits are not valid for on street parking.

If you change your vehicle, please notify Parking Services immediately. You can do this via the online permit system https://parking.calderdale.gov.uk/permits/default.asp or via the telephone on 0845 245 6000. You will be asked to provide your new vehicle details. Please note, when changing vehicle details a new permit will only be issued on production of the old permit . If you are temporarily using a courtesy vehicle, for example whilst your own car is being repaired at a garage, then you must contact Parking Services on 0845 245 6000 with the registration number, make and model of the courtesy vehicle to make us aware of this.
The permit is only valid for use by vehicles whose registration numbers are displayed on the permit. You may choose to include details of two vehicles on the permit. You must clearly display the permit on the front nearside of the vehicle's windscreen at all times whilst parked. Failure to clearly display a valid Contract Permit may result in a 'Penalty Charge Notice' being issued.
Any alteration of the permit will render it invalid.
Parking spaces
The permit does not guarantee, nor does it reserve, a space in any of the Council's car parks. However, Parking Services operates a permit parking only area in High Street car park in Halifax.
Renewing a parking permit
Permits are not renewed automatically, it is the permit holder's responsibility to re-apply for a new permit.

A full list of terms and conditions must be agreed to before you apply for your permit online. these are also then printed on the reverse of your permit when you receive it

There is an administration charge of £25.00 to replace lost / stolen or damaged permits.
If you change any vehicle specified on your permit, we will re-issue you a new permit free of charge (maximum one free change per year) upon receipt of the original permit. Any further changes, you will be charged a £25.00 administration fee.
