Farmers markets

There are currently two farmers' markets in Calderdale:

Russell Street, Halifax and Lees Yard, Hebden Bridge

Both venues feature mainly home grown produce ranging from:

• Jams, preserves, honey and pickles
• Cakes
• Fish and home-reared meats
• Continental and health foods
• Plants and hay
• Herbs
• Hand-made crafts.

Shoppers can be confident of the origins of the food on sale and can ask questions of the local producers.

Both events are held to encourage social interaction and to reduce food miles.
