Small grants scheme
Introduction
In 2007 the Small Grants scheme was introduced and replaced the old Community Grants and Cultural Grants schemes that the Council used to run. This Small Grants scheme has around £70,000 to give away each year, more than either of the old grant schemes.
The Small Grant scheme gives out one off grants of up to £3,000 for voluntary and community sector projects that help achieve the Council's ambition of making Calderdale a clean, safe, attractive and thriving area for people to live in, work in and visit. Priority will be given to groups with an average recent income of less than £10,000 per year, and to projects that help to build stronger local communities.
Grants will be awarded through four separate rounds throughout the year; the deadlines for receipt of applications is:
- 1st May
- 1st August
- 1st November
- 1st February.
The Small Grants Scheme is due to be revamped from April 2012 in line with the Communities (formerly Safer and Stronger Communities) Voluntary Sector Commissioning 2012-2015 Programme. Once the new application pack becomes available it will replace the existing PDF file found on this site. If you would like to receive further information regarding the new scheme, please contact grants@calderdale.gov.uk so that your details can be added to our list.
In the meantime, the existing Small Grants Scheme will continue, with the final round being held in February 2012. Closing date for complete applications is 1st February 2012. At this meeting we will also be accepting applications to the Rescue Grant scheme, for more information please contact grants@calderdale.gov.uk.
