Domestic violence
Are you experiencing domestic violence?
Does your partner or a family member:
- call you names or put you down
- criticise the way you do things
- make you do things that you don't want to do
- stop you doing things that you want to do
- make you afraid of saying the wrong thing
- check where you are or who you're with
- stop you seeing your friends or family
- frighten or intimidate you
- withhold money from you
- bribe you or blackmail you
- push you, or pull your hair
- slap you, punch you, or kick you
- force you to have sex
- make you to do things that you feel ashamed of
- threaten to hurt you, your children, or your pets
- tell you that it's all your fault
- say sorry after hurting you
- promise that it won't happen again?
If you can answer yes to one or more of these questions, then you are probably experiencing domestic violence - and it will happen again.
